PRO Barrier Delivers First Three Lightfoot Barriers
PRO Barrier Engineering has delivered its first three Lightfoot barriers to Orlando, Florida. The LightFoot is a "slimmed down" K4 version of the K12 Arrestor barrier. Two of the Lightfoots have a combined control system that allows them to be operated independently under normal operation, but together in an emergency situation. While the Arrestor is certified at the K12 level, the LightFoot is engineered for K4 defense against hostile vehicles. At the K4 level, it stops a 15,000-lb vehicle traveling at 30 mph, a 60,000-lb truck traveling at 15 mph or a 5400-lb pick-up at 50 mph. The LightFoot requires only a 12-inch deep roadway cut. It features PRO Barrier's energy-absorbing band technology and aesthetic appearance. When down, it's flush with the roadbed but can spring into action within two seconds.
